About

From the day I first held a pencil, I have loved drawing.  I would spend hours a day sketching my favorite cartoon characters and eventually those hours at home would bleed into my elementary classroom hours.  It was there that I first realized what I was doing was not only interesting to me, but also to my fellow classmates.  One day, a friend asked me if he could buy a sketch I made for $0.50, I thought if I sold it to him I would be able to buy an extra milk at lunch time and save the money I got from my parents.  This became a pattern for the rest of my elementary days and it was my first taste of being an artist.  It had nothing to do with the money, although I did enjoy the extra food, it had everything to do with the way it made me feel to have someone love something I created so much that they would pay me for it.

Many years later, I still get that feeling. I have moved on from sketching those original Disney characters and into painting subject matters that are more relative to my life and influences at this point.  Even though the subject matter may have changed, the goal is still the same.  Create work that makes people feel something, whether good or bad, if it gets a reaction I did my job.
